Watson, McIlhinney to Host Annual Senior Expo on Nov. 3
WARRINGTON – State Rep. Kathy Watson (R-Bucks/144th House District) and Sen. Chuck McIlhinney (R-Bucks/10th Senatorial District) will welcome senior citizens, their family members and caregivers at their Senior Expo on Friday, Nov. 3, at Delaware Valley University.

The event will be held in the Moumgis Auditorium/Student Activities Center, located at 700 East Butler Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This Senior Expo allows seniors, their family members and caregivers to learn more about the programs and services offered especially for them, and to have their questions answered,” Watson said. “From health care questions to consumer protection tips, more than 50 different exhibitors will be on hand to offer additional details about their services or answer questions about eligibility.”

Seniors attending this FREE Senior Expo can also expect the same light refreshments, door prizes, giveaways, and information services provided by over 50 exhibitors as they have at previous Senior Expos.

Among all the information being presented, Rite Aid Store 11097 will supply flu shots (insurance cards are required) and blood pressure screenings. Additionally, seniors can drop off unused or expired medications for secure display at the Mobile Prescription Medication Disposal Box and veterans can enroll for Bucks County’s Veterans Discount Card Program through the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds office.

Doylestown Hospital will also be conducting lung, breast cancer, stroke, balance and genetic screenings, and will have a social worker present for health care insurance navigation. Screenings for oral cancer will also be offered.

Returning this year will also be representatives from SEPTA to enroll seniors for the Seniors Free Ride-Transit Photo ID Card program and can take photos on site, and the Office of Attorney General will present a program on senior scams.

Parking is available at the Town Center of New Britain Shopping Center (Giant Supermarket) on Route 202/Butler Avenue in New Britain, conveniently situated just south of DelVal, where FREE Bucks County Transport shuttle buses will take guests back and forth beginning at 9:15 a.m. and running throughout the event. The shuttles are handicapped accessible. On-campus parking at the university is reserved for students, faculty and school-related visitors only and is strictly prohibited.
