Watson Partners with Local Townships to Host Free Shredder Event on April 28
WARRINGTON –To help residents better guard themselves against identity theft, Rep. Kathy Watson (R-Bucks/144th) has partnered with Hilltown and Warrington townships to host a free shredder event on Saturday, April 28.

The shredder event, to be held from 10 a.m. to noon, will be held in the parking lot of Central Bucks High School South, located at 1100 Folly Road, Warrington.

“Identity thieves have been known to dumpster dive when searching for a name and a Social Security number or just a legitimate credit card account number. Once that information is used fraudulently, it can take time and money to restore a person’s good financial standing,” Watson said. “The best way to protect oneself against these scammers is to shred any and all documents containing personal information.”

The event will operate as a drive-through service. It is open to residents of Warrington, New Britain, Chalfont, Hilltown, Silverdale, Telford and Dublin. Proof of residency will be required on site.

Residents are asked to bring just papers and documents in loose form, as the shredding company cannot process binders, clips, hanging folders, fasteners, cardboard or X-rays. Magazines, books and trash will not be accepted.

Documents that are encouraged to be shredded include those with credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information.

This is an event for residents only; no businesses please. This event is not sponsored by the Central Bucks School District or any of its schools.

Any questions should be directed to Watson’s office at (215) 343-8090.
