Watson to Host Annual Senior Expo
WARRINGTON – State Rep. Kathy Watson (R-Bucks/144th) will host her annual Senior Expo for senior citizens, their family members and caregivers on Friday, Oct. 26.

The event will be held in the Moumgis Auditorium/Student Activities Center on the campus of Delaware Valley University, located at 700 East Butler Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This Senior Expo will be my last in my official capacity,” said Watson. “That’s why I am encouraging all of our local seniors, family members and caregivers to stop by. This will give us a chance to let them know about a variety of helpful programs and services while also answering any questions they may have about state government-related issues or legislation.”

The expo will offer specific information from questions about health care to consumer protection tips. Exhibitors from local, state, federal agencies and more will be on hand to offer additional details about their services or answer questions about eligibility.

Seniors attending this FREE Senior Expo can also expect the same light refreshments, door prizes, health screenings and presentations, as in the past.

Among all the information being presented, Rite Aid will supply flu and tetanus shots (insurance cards are required). Additionally, seniors can drop off unused or expired medications for secure disposal.

Doylestown Hospital will also be conducting stroke, blood pressure and glucose screenings.

Returning this year will also be representatives from SEPTA to enroll seniors for the Seniors Free Ride-Transit Photo ID Card (SEPTA Key) program, and the Office of Attorney General will present a program on credit card skimming.

As a new feature, PennDOT will be presenting information about REAL ID.

Parking is available at the Town Center of New Britain Shopping Center (Giant Supermarket) on Route 202/Butler Avenue in New Britain, conveniently situated just south of DelVal, where FREE Bucks County Transport shuttle buses will take guests back and forth beginning at 9:15 a.m. and running throughout the event. The shuttles are handicapped accessible. On-campus parking at the university is reserved for students, faculty and school-related visitors only and is strictly prohibited.
